How Happy AF handles the information you share with us.

- If you join our email list, we collect your email address and first name so we can send you the emails you asked for.
- We use Mailchimp to send those emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Our website uses Meta tools to understand how people find us and to measure our ads.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
Happy AF is a podcast about alcohol-free living, hosted by Maxine and Isabelle. It is produced by Happy AF Podcast, based in Vermont. In this policy, "Happy AF," "we," "us," and "our" mean Happy AF Podcast.
This policy covers happyafpodcast.com, our email list, and the sign-up forms we run on Facebook and Instagram.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email sign-ups. Your email address and first name when you join our list, whether on our website or through a sign-up form on Facebook or Instagram.
- Your consent. A record that you agreed to receive our emails, and when.
- Messages. Anything you choose to send us by email or direct message.
Information from Facebook and Instagram sign-up forms
When you tap one of our ads and submit a sign-up form, Meta may pre-fill your email address and first name from your account. You can edit these before submitting. Meta then passes what you submit to us.
Information collected automatically
- Website activity. Pages you visit, how you arrived, and basic device and browser details, collected through the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser type, and request details, which our website hosting and security providers process to deliver and protect the site.
How we use it
- To send you the emails you signed up for, such as new episodes and related content.
- To understand which episodes, pages, and ads people respond to, so we can make the show better and reach people who would enjoy it.
- To measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
- To meet legal obligations.
Our emails
We only add you to our email list if you agree to it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. You can also email us at [email protected] and we will remove you.
Our emails may use standard tools that tell us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. We use this to understand what readers find useful.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the show and the website. They handle your information on our behalf and under their own privacy terms.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws treat using Meta's advertising and measurement tools as "sharing" personal information for advertising. See Your choices and rights for how to opt out.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the show.
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses the Meta Pixel, which may place cookies in your browser, and the Meta Conversions API, which sends similar information from our website to Meta directly. Together they help us see which ads bring people to the site. Our website host may also use cookies needed to run the site.
You can limit this by:
- blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings,
- adjusting your ad preferences in your Meta Accounts Center, and
- using your device's advertising privacy settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address and first name while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we don't email you again, and we delete or anonymize the rest within a reasonable period. Website and technical data is kept for as long as our providers retain it under their own policies.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you,
- correct it,
- delete it, or
- stop sending you emails.
Email [email protected] with your request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
California residents
You have the right to know, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of sharing through Meta's advertising tools, email us with the subject line "Do not share my information," and adjust your Meta ad preferences as described above. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
European Union, United Kingdom, and similar regions
We rely on your consent to send you emails, and on our legitimate interest in running and improving the show and website for other uses. You may withdraw consent at any time, and you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your information, and to data portability. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Canada
We send commercial emails only with your consent, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Children
Happy AF is made for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
International visitors
We and our service providers are based in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Our providers use recognized safeguards for these transfers.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the show and our tools change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will let subscribers know by email.
